Municipalities of Gaza: Incoming Aid is Insufficient and the Situation is Dire

SadaNews - Dr. Alaa Al-Din Al-Batta, the head of the Gaza Municipalities Union, confirmed that the aid and tents entering the sector are insufficient.

He explained in a statement to Al-Arabiya on Sunday that Gaza needs mechanisms to retrieve and bury the bodies.

He also emphasized that the humanitarian situation in the sector is very difficult and requires urgent intervention.

This comes as Israel continues to carry out strikes within the sector since the ceasefire agreement took effect on October 10, while also preventing the entry of aid in the agreed amounts.

According to official statistics, the average number of trucks that have entered since the start of the agreement does not exceed 89 trucks daily, out of 600 trucks supposed to enter to secure the minimum basic needs for the Palestinians, according to Anadolu Agency.

The mayor of Khan Younis stated to Al-Arabiya: The aid and tents that have entered Gaza are insufficient.

"Starvation Policy"

It is noted that the government media office in Gaza confirmed that what is entering the sector does not meet even the minimum of needs.

It clarified that the average number of trucks that have entered since the agreement took effect does not exceed 89 trucks daily, out of the 600 trucks that are supposed to enter to secure the minimum basic needs.

The office stressed that this number reflects "the continuation of a policy of strangulation and starvation against more than 2.4 million Palestinians," according to its statement.

It is noteworthy that about 40 countries and international organizations are represented at the civilian-military coordination center recently established south of Tel Aviv, aimed at monitoring the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas, and coordinating the entry of humanitarian aid into the devastated Palestinian sector, following two years of bloody war.
