By Order of Zamir: Withdrawal of Chinese Cars from Israeli Army Officers

SadaNews - Media reports revealed on Sunday that the Israeli occupation army has begun withdrawing Chinese cars from its officers, following orders from the Chief of Staff of the occupation army, Eyal Zamir.

According to the newspaper "Israel Hayom," this decision was made after Israeli security agencies concluded that there was a "real concern about the leakage of sensitive information or espionage through the vehicle systems."

It added: "This is another step in a policy that limits the use of Chinese vehicles, after their entry into military bases was previously prohibited."

In detail, the newspaper emphasizes that this step will be implemented gradually; in the first phase, vehicles will be collected from officers in sensitive positions or those exposed to security-sensitive information.

The second phase will include all officers, and the campaign is expected to conclude by the end of the first quarter of 2026.

The Israeli army estimates that "the operation will involve about 700 vehicles, most of which are of the CHERY model that were given to officers with large families because they are 7-seater cars."

Security sources explained that some Chinese vehicles are equipped with systems that include cameras, microphones, sensors, and communication technologies that transmit information to external servers, sometimes without the user's or local importer’s control.

The report stated that the Israeli decision was also influenced by the stance of other countries, such as the United States and Britain, which have banned the use of Chinese vehicles in sensitive security areas.
