Arafat Foundation Calls for Commemoration: We Will Not Forget the Leader and We Will Not Compromise on Our Principles
SadaNews - The Yasser Arafat Foundation issued a statement on the occasion of the approaching 21st anniversary of President Abu Amar's martyrdom.
The statement read: "The 21st anniversary of the martyrdom of the founding leader comes at a time when the homeland is facing a war of genocide, and the occupation escalates its aggression through killing, destruction, and extermination in Gaza, settlement and aggression in the West Bank, siege and desecration of Jerusalem, the capital, and Al-Aqsa Mosque, and the maltreatment of our brave prisoners, amidst frantic attempts to impose political and geographical division on our people."
It added: "However, the Arab Palestinian people remain steadfast in place and time, enduring and fortified, clinging to their land, cause, and rights, which are intact and not diminished. They refuse displacement and struggle to end the occupation and realize national independence in our independent state, which the world recognizes as a natural, legal, political, and moral right."
It continued: "In light of the ongoing aggression and siege, the Yasser Arafat Foundation calls on our people to commemorate this anniversary from their respective locations. Those who can reach his grave, we will meet there to pray for him, lay wreaths, and renew the promise and oath to continue on the path of Abu Amar in adhering to our national constants and calling for strengthening our internal front and sticking to the Palestine Liberation Organization as the sole legitimate representative of our people. Our gathering is on Tuesday, November 11, starting at 10:00 AM at the grave of the leader symbol Yasser Arafat."
