Occupation Seizes 5,856 Dunams of Land in Anata Village Northeast of Jerusalem
SadaNews - The Israeli occupation authorities issued a new military order to seize Palestinian lands in the Anata area northeast of Jerusalem, claiming "military necessities."
The governorate of Jerusalem stated that according to the military order, the total targeted area is approximately 5,856 dunams, of which 5,254 dunams are located within the lands of Anata village classified as state lands, and 602 dunams are privately owned by Palestinian citizens from Anata. The document indicated that the lands will be used for military purposes under the control of the occupying army.
The governorate added in a statement this evening that the order also grants the affected landowners the right to appeal to the legal advisor for the Judea and Samaria area within seven days from the date of the decision's issuance.
The statement continued: "This decision comes as part of an ongoing Israeli policy aimed at expanding control over lands in the West Bank, amid widespread Palestinian rejection and condemnation of the repeated confiscation operations carried out by the occupying authorities under security and military pretexts."
It is noteworthy that 16,000 dunams of Anata's total area of 34,000 dunams are classified as state lands.
