The Occupation Prepares to Approve 2,000 Settlement Units in the West Bank Before Year-End
SadaNews - The Hebrew newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth revealed that the Israeli occupation government is preparing to approve the construction of approximately 2,000 new settlement units in the West Bank before the end of this year, a move that enhances the pace of settlement expansion in the occupied Palestinian territories.
According to the newspaper, the Israeli government has approved the construction of more than 48,000 settlement units in various areas of the West Bank since the beginning of 2023, indicating an unprecedented escalation in settlement activity in a short time frame.
In a related context, the Israeli Minister of Finance has approved the confiscation of about 26,000 dunams of land in the West Bank since the beginning of 2023, considering it "state land."
