Presidential Decision to Retire Nazmi Mahna
SadaNews: A decision was issued by President Mahmoud Abbas on October 4, 2025, regarding the retirement of Governor Nazmi Mahna, the former Director-General of the Palestinian Crossings and Borders Authority. This decision was published that day in the official gazette, as SadaNews reported.

The specialized court for corruption crimes decided, at the request of the head of the corruption prosecution, to summon former Director-General of the Palestinian Crossings and Borders Authority, Nazmi Mahna, who has been outside the country for several weeks, for an investigation into issues related to the smuggling of artifacts and financial and administrative corruption.
The case, which had previously been raised and publicly denied by Mahna, has resurfaced after investigations revealed serious suspicions, prompting the court to issue a decision to summon him along with 15 other individuals, including his wife, and seven of his children and daughters, including his son Sami Mahna, the Ambassador of Palestine in Albania, along with his brother, his aide, four employees from the accounting department of the crossings, and a businessman.
The judicial decision included a request to lift banking secrecy from all those summoned, to monitor their financial activities, and to lift secrecy on their information and accounts registered with the Capital Market Authority and licensed exchanges, in addition to tracking movable and immovable properties and imposing precautionary seizure on those properties.
Meanwhile, President Mahmoud Abbas issued a presidential decree appointing Amin Qandil as the acting head of the Palestinian Crossings and Borders Authority, succeeding Nazmi Mahna.
