Israel Allows Hamas to Search for Hostages' Bodies Inside the Yellow Line in Gaza
SadaNews - The Israeli Broadcasting Authority revealed today, Monday, that the Israeli authorities have allowed Hamas to conduct field operations to search for the bodies of hostages at several locations within the yellow line in the Gaza Strip, not just in the Rafah area.
According to the authority, this field round included the Shujaiya area in the northern part of the Strip, which is currently under the control of the Israeli occupying army.
Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper reported on Sunday that the Israeli army withdrew from the area searching for the bodies of those held in Gaza amid pressure from mediators and fears of a clash with Hamas.
The newspaper quoted Israeli officials stating that "the army withdrew from the search area for the bodies of the captives inside Gaza under pressure from international mediators, and due to concerns that continued activity could lead to a confrontation with Hamas elements."
The withdrawal of the Israeli army came as the fifth consecutive day passed without the return of the bodies of Israeli hostages held by Hamas.
