Israeli Security Minister Tours the Border with Lebanon Accompanied by U.S. Envoy
SadaNews - Israeli Security Minister, Israel Katz, conducted a tour at the border with Lebanon today, Sunday, accompanied by the U.S. envoy, according to a statement issued by the Israeli Ministry of Security.
The statement mentioned that Katz "visited today, Sunday, the Northern Command and the Lebanese border, accompanied by the U.S. President’s envoy to Lebanon, Morgan Ortagus."
According to the statement, "the visit was also attended by the U.S. ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabee, the Israeli ambassador to the United States, Yair Lapid, the commander of the Northern Command, Rafi Milo, representatives of the U.S. Central Command, and representatives of the Israeli National Security Council."
The statement added that "at the beginning of the visit, Israeli army leaders briefed the Security Minister and envoy Ortagus on Hezbollah's activities and its attempts to rebuild its military infrastructure in Lebanon."
It was noted that Katz and Ortagus "later toured the Lebanese border.... where they observed Lebanese territory and heard from field leaders about the Israeli army's defensive and offensive efforts in the area, including the elimination of two Hezbollah operatives during the visit."
The statement concluded that Katz "personally thanked U.S. President Donald Trump and envoy Ortagus for their support and backing of Israel's policy in protecting its borders and areas against Lebanon, emphasizing that Israel will continue to defend the northern territories against any threat."
