Italy at the Forefront of European Partners
Italy emerged as the leading destination for Jordanian products, with exports rising to 101 million dinars compared to 36 million last year, marking a surge of about 180.6%.
This accelerated increase indicates a growing European demand for Jordanian goods, particularly in high value-added sectors such as textiles, fertilizers, pharmaceuticals, and chemical products.
Conversely, Jordanian imports from the European Union increased by 7.5%, reaching 2.088 billion dinars, compared to 1.942 billion dinars in the same period last year.
Germany topped the list of supplier countries to Jordan with a value of 451 million dinars, with the main imported goods including vehicles, machinery, industrial equipment, pharmaceuticals, and electronics.
Improvement in the Competitiveness of National Products in European Markets
Mohammad Al-Samadi, a member of the Board of Directors of the European Chamber of Commerce in Jordan, stated that the significant increase in exports indicates a clear improvement in industrial performance and a growing competitive capability of national products within European markets.
He emphasized that the quality of Jordanian industry has gained the trust of European consumers due to its adherence to international standards and specifications.
Al-Samadi noted that the Jordanian-European partnership represents a successful model of balanced economic cooperation, highlighting the importance of accelerating the implementation of a national tracking system for food and animal products to enhance European market confidence in Jordanian exports.
He added that the continuation of this positive trend will contribute to economic growth and the creation of new job opportunities, alongside supporting the integration of the Jordanian and European economies.
The European Chamber of Commerce in Jordan continues its efforts to expand trade cooperation by organizing meetings and joint visits in European capitals, in coordination with the commercial attachés of European Union countries, to explore new export opportunities for Jordanian products.
