Regev: We Will Not Leave Gaza Before Forming a New Leadership.. Sovereignty Over the West Bank is "a Matter of Time"
SadaNews Translation - Israeli Transport Minister Miri Regev stated, according to the occupation army radio, that Israel will not withdraw from the Gaza Strip before achieving strategic objectives including disarming the Palestinian factions, led by Hamas, and ending their control over the Strip. She added that Qatar and Turkey will not be part of any future arrangements, indicating that an international force will be formed in coordination with Israel and the United States.
Regev said, as translated by SadaNews: "We will not leave Gaza until it is disarmed and Hamas loses its control, and we will not leave until another nucleus of families in Gaza capable of taking charge is formed."
In her comments on the remarks of Israeli Minister of Defense Israel Katz, who said that 60% of Hamas's tunnels remain intact, Regev expressed her surprise, affirming that she believed the Israeli army had destroyed most of those tunnels during the recent military operations.
Regarding the imposition of Israeli sovereignty over the West Bank, Regev explained that the current time is not appropriate, but stressed that "everyone understands that sovereignty will ultimately be imposed," adding: "I believe it will be imposed during this government's term, and Trump will approve it."
