Hebrew Channel: Authority Elements Will Supervise Operations at Rafah Crossing
Translation by SadaNews - The Hebrew Rishat Kan Channel reported this Thursday evening that Israel links the opening of the Rafah land crossing to Hamas's actions, which has yet to return all the bodies of the abductees.
The channel cited European sources stating that the Rafah crossing could open tomorrow if Israel permits it.
The channel noted, as translated by SadaNews, that in recent days, preparations have been made for the crossing's opening, including field tours, which are still ongoing.
It pointed out that the force that will operate the crossing includes Palestinians connected to the Authority, who have been security approved by the authorities in Israel.
It mentioned that this comes in contrast to the statements made by the cabinet and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, which state that the civil governance in Gaza will not belong to Hamas or the Authority.
It clarified that these elements in all the tours they have conducted so far did not wear the Palestinian flag badge, as they had previously, likely due to Israeli insistence.
The European source told the Hebrew channel: The Rafah crossing can open tomorrow if Israel allows it, and Palestinian observers who have received Israeli approval will also work there.
