Netanyahu Orders Not to Advance Any Laws Related to Sovereignty Over the West Bank
Translation by SadaNews - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu instructed, this Thursday evening, not to advance any bill in the Knesset related to imposing sovereignty over the West Bank.
Additionally, the head of the government coalition, Ofir Katz, decided not to advance any law in this regard.
This came just one day after a vote on a bill presented by the Israel Beiteinu party led by Avigdor Lieberman, which was voted on and passed by a majority.
Netanyahu's office stated that the voting process was a deliberate political provocation by the opposition aimed at inciting division during the visit of U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance.
It noted that the bills were introduced by opposition Knesset members, while the Likud party and the religious parties (the main parties in the ruling coalition) did not support them. It pointed out that one Knesset member from Likud, who was recently removed from the chairmanship of one of the committees, voted in favor of the bill (referring to Yuli Edelstein).
The statement said: Without Likud's support, it is unlikely that these bills will make any progress.
