Occupation notifies of the demolition of massive industrial facilities at the entrance of Anata as part of a settlement plan
SadaNews - The Israeli occupation authorities notified today, Thursday, of the demolition of massive industrial facilities at the entrance of Anata town, northeast of Jerusalem.
The advisor to the Jerusalem governor, Marouf Al-Rifai, explained that the occupation forces stormed the entrance to the town and distributed demolition notices affecting sheds and factories for iron and furniture, in a long-standing effort to establish a road, roundabout, and bridge connecting the Anata intersection with the Israeli checkpoint at Hizma, as part of the "Greater Jerusalem" project and the colonial "E1 plan".
Al-Rifai pointed out that the occupation authorities do not wish for any Palestinian facilities to exist within the path of this project, and demolition operations in the area have been repeated under various pretexts, such as lack of permits or proximity to the apartheid wall.
Al-Rifai warned that what is happening at the entrance of Anata and Al-Zaim street falls within a plan to establish a new discriminatory road in the near future, aimed at preventing Palestinians from using Abu George street leading to the Jerusalem-Jericho road, which is reserved exclusively for the movement of settlers; thus, the Anata/Zaim entrance will be designated solely for Palestinian movement, connecting Anata, Al-Zaim, and the Hizma checkpoint roundabout.
