
Al-‘Umleh: Participants in Normalization Meeting in Jordan Do Not Represent Palestine
SadaNews - Eyad Al-‘Umleh, a member of the Central Council and coordinator of tribal affairs in the West Bank, confirmed that the participation of men from the tribes of Hebron Governorate in a normalization meeting in Jordan does not represent the tribes of Palestine.
Al-‘Umleh stated in a brief remark that the participation of tribal men from Hebron within a delegation attending a banquet in honor of Knesset member Afif Abdul in the Al-Dhulail region of Jordan means that they do not represent the tribes of Palestine and only represent themselves.
He stressed that any meeting of the Palestinian tribes should only occur within the official circles of the tribes affiliated with the State of Palestine.
After a controversy in Jordan, and in an attempt to contain it, the person who hosted the banquet issued a press statement, stating that he was unaware that one of the attendees held an official position in the "Israeli Knesset."
