Half Linked to the Olive Season.. 71 Settler Attacks in the West Bank in One Week
SadaNews - The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) documented 71 attacks by settlers in the West Bank during the period from October 7 to 13, half of which are linked to the olive harvest season.
OCHA clarified that the settlers attacked Palestinians in 27 villages across the West Bank, resulting in injuries and property damage. The attacks included assaults on farmers, theft of crops or equipment, and vandalism of olive trees.
During the annual olive harvest season, Palestinian lands are subjected to repeated assaults by settlers and the occupation army. Farmers continuously face attacks and violations that prevent them from accessing their lands, leading to significant material losses and exacerbating their daily suffering under occupation.
Since October 7, 2023, settlers have committed a total of 7,154 assaults against citizens and their property, resulting in the martyrdom of 33 citizens in the West Bank.
The attacks by the occupation and its settlers have also resulted in uprooting, smashing, and damaging a total of 48,728 trees, including 37,237 olive trees, according to the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission.
