Joint Israeli-American Movements Regarding Gaza Amid Trump’s Deputy Visit

SadaNews Translation - The Israeli arena is witnessing movements in coordination with the United States concerning the Gaza Strip.

Channel 12 reported, as translated by SadaNews, that American envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the Minister of Strategic Affairs in his government Ron Dermer, reaffirming the United States' support for Israel in its right to defend itself.

The Trump envoys emphasized their rejection of any risks regarding the assurance of continuing the ceasefire.

Meanwhile, Netanyahu and Dermer affirmed Israel's commitment to the ceasefire and called on the U.S. administration to work towards binding Hamas to the agreement.

The American envoys also met with senior officials in the Israeli army to ensure military readiness for the implementation of the second phase of the ceasefire.

This comes in light of the anticipated visit of U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance.

According to the Hebrew channel Reshet Kan, Vance had expressed a desire to visit the Gaza Strip, but the relevant security authorities for his protection were not enthusiastic, thus it was decided that he would monitor and observe the sector via Israeli security cameras through special screens at the Kirya in Tel Aviv, as translated by SadaNews.

According to the channel, Israel demanded that the United States not initiate the reconstruction of the sector before Hamas shows its readiness to disarm.

One of the steps currently under discussion with the U.S. administration is the issue of neutralizing the tunnels.

According to the channel, Israel wants to seal all tunnels in Gaza under its supervision, even in areas currently controlled by Hamas.

It indicated that the U.S. administration wishes to start a trial experiment in Rafah and has given Israel the green light for this possibility.
