The Occupation Issues Two Orders to Seize About 25 Dunams of Land in Izoun and Jiyas in Qalqilya
SadaNews - The Israeli occupation authorities issued two military orders today, Wednesday, to seize areas of citizens' land in Qalqilya Governorate for the benefit of colonial and expansionist projects.
Manif Nazzal, the official in charge of the wall and settlement issues in Qalqilya, stated in remarks to the "Wafa" agency that the occupation authorities issued an order to seize 3 dunams and 712 meters of land from the town of Izoun, east of Qalqilya, to pave a colonial road linking the settlement "Alfei Menashe" to the Qalqilya-Nablus road, known as "Street 55," near the "Elihau" checkpoint established behind the apartheid wall.
He added that the second military order involves seizing about 21 dunams and 307 meters of land from the towns of Izoun and Jiyas, with the aim of establishing what is known as a "security wall" around the settlement "Tzofim".
It is noteworthy that the settlements "Alfei Menashe" and "Tzofim" are built on the lands of the towns of Izoun, Jiyas, and Kafr Thulth, and continue to expand at the expense of agricultural lands belonging to the citizens, posing a direct threat to the livelihoods of dozens of families who rely on agriculture as their primary source of income.
