President Abbas: The Peace Summit is an Important Step and the Reconstruction of Gaza is a Priority

SadaNews - President Mahmoud Abbas affirmed that the peace summit held under the joint auspices of the United States and Egypt represents an important step in the path of the Palestinian cause.

President Abbas pointed out that the summit primarily addressed initial issues, including the ceasefire, prisoners, humanitarian aid, and the Israeli withdrawal.

In an interview with the Russian "Sputnik" channel, he stated: "We want to complete this journey with two important matters: the first is working towards the reconstruction of Gaza, which is important and requires international and Arab efforts, and the second is peace… to build peace thereafter in an international conference held for this purpose."
