Reports: The Israeli army withdrew away from the "Yellow Line" towards the border fence

SadaNews - Israeli reports today, Friday, indicated that the Israeli army has withdrawn and redeployed in accordance with the ceasefire agreement made with Hamas, moving away from the "Yellow Line" towards the border fence separating it from the Gaza Strip.

Israeli army radio quoted officers and soldiers from the forces that withdrew and repositioned in the sector, stating that "the withdrawal map published by the army is not accurate. The frontline positions that the army maintained in the Gaza territory are very far from the Yellow Line".

It was pointed out that the map presented by the Israeli army spokesperson is far from reality, as the army is not positioned on the "Yellow Line" but rather stationed further back, with most of its locations being one to one and a half kilometers away from the border.

Israeli army radio clarified that there is a lot of territory that is supposed to be under army control, yet there are no forces present in those areas, and the army has established its frontline positions far behind the withdrawal line.

Channel 12 in Israel reported that there was an amendment to the "Yellow Line" during negotiations with Hamas, and that it was changed to extend between 200 to 600 meters towards Israel.

Based on statements from soldiers at various sites in Gaza, it was described that "the withdrawal is much deeper, for instance in northern Gaza, northeast and central Gaza". It was mentioned that at least two military sites were dismantled in areas that were supposed to remain under army control.

In response, Israeli army spokesperson, Efi Devrin, stated that "the map presented is an illustrative example, as the army is deployed according to the agreement".

He added that "the deployment of the forces was determined based on the assessment of the situation and according to the agreement, after analyzing all variables. We will not provide details regarding the deployment of the forces".
