Hamdan: There is no objection to a meeting between Hamas leadership and Trump
SadaNews - Osama Hamdan, a leader in the Hamas movement, stated this Thursday evening that there is nothing preventing Hamas from meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump.
He denied that any Hamas delegation met with any Israeli delegation in Egypt.
He stated: The only party we refuse to meet is the occupation, and our hands are extended to cooperate with anyone who seeks the interest of the Palestinian people.
In this context, he confirmed that Hamas rejects Trump's proposal to establish a 'Peace Council' that would be chaired by the U.S. president himself to temporarily oversee the administration of the Gaza Strip.
Hamdan added, No Palestinian accepts this; all factions, including the Palestinian Authority, reject it.
He continued: No one accepts returning to the era of mandate and colonialism, adding: If they want to help us, they should assist the Palestinian people in obtaining their full rights rather than attempting to impose guardianship over them.
Regarding the surrendering of weapons, Hamdan stated: No Palestinian will agree to surrender their weapons, and our people are in dire need of arms and resistance.
He added: We believe that issues of sovereignty and independence should form a unifying Palestinian national stance.
He continued: We will not accept foreign guardianship, and the time has come to end the occupation and establish a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.
Netanyahu: We have banned part of the 'Muslim Brotherhood' and we will complete this step...
