"UNICEF": No Safe Place in Gaza and Conditions are Getting Worse
SadaNews - UNICEF spokesperson James Elder confirmed that "there is no safe place in Gaza," noting that "everyone bears responsibility, and things today are worse than ever."
Elder clarified in a post on (X) today, Monday, that the city of Gaza still hosts tens of thousands of children, including those who have lost limbs due to the shelling, pointing out that "the children of Gaza are trembling from the weight of the bombardment and the imposed reality is harsh and contradictory."
He emphasized that "issuing a general evacuation order for civilians does not mean that those who remain will lose their right to protection," affirming that international law guarantees the protection of civilians in all circumstances.
He noted that the Mawasi area in Gaza is one of the most densely populated areas in the world, deprived of the most basic necessities of life, which exacerbates the suffering of the children and families who have sought refuge there.
