Israeli Sources: 3 Controversial Issues Between Israel and Hamas on the Negotiation Table in Cairo
SadaNews: The Israeli Broadcasting Authority, citing informed sources, revealed that Hamas has expressed reservations about the withdrawal map proposed by U.S. President Donald Trump, as part of efforts to reach a comprehensive ceasefire agreement between the movement and Israel.
The issue of withdrawal lines is one of three central points of contention between the parties, which are expected to be discussed at the negotiating table in Cairo in the coming days. The other issues include the gradual disarmament of Hamas and linking the release of Palestinian prisoners to additional conditions, which Israel rejects.
According to Israeli estimates, Trump is committed to his plan and will not link the release of prisoners to any other negotiation track, which complicates the negotiations and creates obstacles to reaching final understandings.
