Netanyahu: We Want to End Negotiations and Retrieve All Hostages Within a Few Days
SadaNews - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated in a recorded speech on Saturday evening that "we are on the verge of a significant achievement that has not yet been finalized, but I hope we can retrieve all living and deceased hostages within a few days, with the army remaining in Gaza."
He mentioned that "in the first phase, Hamas will release all hostages, and the army forces will redeploy in a manner that allows them to maintain control deep inside Gaza."
Netanyahu considered that "in the second phase of the deal, Hamas and the Gaza Strip will be disarmed, either through a political agreement via Trump or through a military approach for Israel."
He indicated that he directed the Minister of Strategic Affairs, Ron Dermer, who heads the negotiating team, to head to Egypt to reach a prisoner exchange deal with Hamas.
Netanyahu added, "We intend to conclude the negotiations within a few days, and as President Trump said, we will not tolerate Hamas's attempts to waste time."
He noted that "the political and military pressure we exerted has led to a change in Hamas's position, and everything we hear that Hamas was also ready a year or two ago to release all hostages without a complete withdrawal from the sector is a lie."
Netanyahu spoke about the immense internal and external pressures on him to end the war previously, considering that if he had responded to that, the "achievements" against Hamas in Gaza, Hezbollah in Lebanon, nuclear and ballistic missiles in Iran, and the overthrow of Bashar al-Assad's regime in Syria would not have been realized.
