Occupation Police Arrest Settler on Charges of "Espionage with Iran"
SadaNews - Israeli security forces arrested a young man working at a hotel by the Dead Sea today, Friday, on suspicion of carrying out security tasks for Iranian intelligence.
The occupation police and the "Shabak" stated in a joint statement that "an Israeli citizen (23 years old) working at a hotel by the Dead Sea was arrested as part of a joint operation by the Shabak and the 'Lahav' 433 unit in the Israeli police after suspicions arose about his connections with Iranian intelligence elements."
The two agencies added that "the investigation revealed that the detainee had been communicating with the Iranians for a period," which was not specified in the statement.
It mentioned that "he had carried out tasks of gathering information and photographing inside the hotel and its surroundings at their direction." It was also pointed out that "the investigation with him is still ongoing."
At the end of last month, the occupation police arrested two boys aged 26 from the city of Holon, south of Tel Aviv, on suspicion of carrying out security tasks for Iranian intelligence, and the prosecution submitted a statement of claim against the two in preparation for presenting an indictment against them, according to its claims.
