Netanyahu's Office: Mossad Collaborated with Germany to Arrest Suspects Planning Attacks in the Country
SadaNews Translation - The office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu revealed on Friday that the Mossad collaborated with German security agencies to arrest members of a cell that planned attacks against Israeli and Jewish targets in the country.
The statement pointed out that Germany announced last Wednesday the arrest of a cell suspected of being linked to Hamas that planned the attack.
It indicated that the arrests were made thanks to the close cooperation between the Mossad's intelligence and special operations agency and the security and intelligence forces in Germany, as translated by SadaNews.
As part of the operation, German security agencies (BFV) arrested three members of the cell, who were found in possession of weapons believed to be prepared for the attack.
This arrest adds to a series of other operations carried out by the Mossad in recent weeks across various parts of Europe, in cooperation with local security agencies and authorities, including in Austria, according to a statement from Netanyahu's office.
It noted that this is part of a large-scale activity being conducted by the Mossad throughout Europe, during which additional weapons caches have been discovered and more suspects arrested.
Netanyahu's office stated on behalf of the Mossad that the agency will continue its work everywhere to thwart any activity targeting Israelis and Jews abroad, in full cooperation with security and intelligence agencies in the country and around the world.
Hamas has denied the allegations made by Germany, asserting that its resistance is confined to Palestine.
