Israeli Naval Forces Begin Seizing the Global Resilience Fleet

SadaNews - Israeli naval forces began, around (9:30) Palestine time, to take control of the Global Resilience Fleet.

These forces stormed some of the ships participating in the maritime fleet that aimed to reach the Gaza Strip to break the siege on it.

Prior to the seizure of several ships, an Israeli naval officer called out to the fleet participants to change their course, stating: "You are approaching an active combat area and violating a legal maritime blockade." This was reported by the Hebrew channel Reshet Kan and translated by SadaNews.

The fleet had previously announced that it had lost contact with several of its participating ships.

Radar equipment detected more than 20 unidentified vessels just 3 nautical miles from its location, according to reports by "Reuters."

They noted that Israeli vessels had approached the fleet's location.

The organizers of the "Global Resilience Fleet," which set sail from Tunisia in mid-September, had previously stated that it would continue its journey off the Egyptian coasts, despite what they described as "intimidation maneuvers" allegedly carried out by "Israeli military vessels" last night.

For his part, Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani stated that Israel assured him its forces would not use any violence against the fleet, calling on Israel to transfer the individuals on board the fleet's ships to the port of Ashdod.

The "Global Resilience Fleet," which launched from Spain, includes approximately 45 ships carrying hundreds of Palestinian-supporting activists from over 40 countries. It is transporting baby formula, food supplies, and medical aid, claiming to be on a "peaceful and non-violent mission."
