Leaked Message Reveals Israeli Occupation Army's Perspective on Gaza Attack
SadaNews - The Hebrew Channel 13 reported that the Chief of Staff of the Israeli occupation army, Eyal Zamir, warned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu about the military assault on Gaza, stating that the operation endangers hostages and soldiers, and lacks a political objective.
The channel disclosed a message that Zamir delivered to Netanyahu, which stated: "Army soldiers return to the same places without a political purpose," this came a day before Netanyahu's anticipated meeting with President Donald Trump in Washington to discuss a U.S. proposal to end the war.
He added: "Field operations endanger the hostages; their situation is deteriorating. Every operation needs a political conclusion, and Israel refuses to find an alternative to Hamas in the Gaza Strip."
For its part, the army stated in a statement: "This is a highly sensitive and classified document that was handed over personally to the Prime Minister and the Minister of Defense. Naturally, due to the sensitivity of the matter, we will not comment on the contents of the document. Leaking its content to unauthorized parties constitutes a threat to national security."
Families of conscripts in Gaza responded to the news by saying: "We were shocked. The document reveals the truth and completely undermines our trust in the military and political levels, according to the Chief of Staff himself."
They continued: "He (Netanyahu) sends our children to die and be injured without purpose. The lives of our children are not left to fate; their blood is spilled for a purely political war. This is the time for conscript families to step out and stop this senseless war. We will start the struggle with a mass march on Tuesday."
