Increase in Raids and Arrests in the West Bank
SadaNews - Israeli occupation forces launched a large-scale campaign of raids and arrests early Monday morning in several cities and refugee camps in the occupied West Bank, resulting in the arrest of dozens, including released prisoners and children.
In the city of Nablus, the occupation informed the family of the martyr Mahmoud Al-Aqad of its intention to seize their house on Halawa Street, and requested them to evacuate the home.
Al-Aqad was an orphan who lived alone before carrying out a car-ramming attack east of Qalqilya. Palestinian Red Crescent teams dealt with 10 cases of suffocation due to inhaling toxic gas during confrontations in Khillat Al-Amoud.
In Ramallah Governorate, the occupation forces stormed the Jalazone camp north of the city and arrested several young men, including jihad Nidal Aliyan and Maher Dlaisha, known as "Abu Al-Walid," in addition to Muhammad Abu Karima, Abdullah Mubarak, Dia Al-Tirawi, and the brothers Malik and Jamal Abu Hamid.
In Qalqilya Governorate, the occupation forces arrested at least 15 Palestinians in the town of Kafr Laqif east of the city, in one of the largest mass arrest operations in recent weeks.
In the Old Askar Camp in Nablus, special forces arrested two young men, Qassem Qandeel and Abd Abu Hadrus, after raiding their homes.
The occupation forces also arrested the young man Salah Ibrahim Shaban in Jenin and re-arrested the released prisoner Iyad Jaradat after storming his house in the town of Yamun. The young man Aysar Jihad Al-Masri was arrested in the town of Aqaba north of Tubas.
In Jericho, the occupation forces stormed the Aqbat Jabr camp and arrested three members of the same family before withdrawing from the area. The towns of Beit Ummar north of Hebron and Jayyous east of Qalqilya also witnessed wide-scale incursions.
In the city of Hebron, a young man was moderately injured after being assaulted by the occupation forces during their incursion into the town of Idna, while the occupation forces fired live ammunition and tear gas canisters during confrontations in the town of Dhahiriya, assaulted a young man and his father, and arrested a child whose identity has not yet been determined in Beit Ummar north of the city.
This campaign comes amid a rise in daily Israeli military operations in the West Bank, as part of a policy aimed at exhausting the population and terrorizing civilians, amid the absence of any international oversight or legal accountability for ongoing violations.
