Palestine Welcomes the Recognition of the Republic of San Marino of Its State

SadaNews - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates welcomed the recognition of the Republic of San Marino of the State of Palestine, considering it a courageous decision that aligns with international law and United Nations resolutions, and supports the efforts to achieve peace and implement the two-state solution.

The "Foreign Ministry" expressed its thanks to San Marino for the positions announced by Foreign Minister Marino Luca Beccari before the United Nations General Assembly regarding the Palestinian issue, primarily concerning the immediate cessation of the war on the Gaza Strip, the humanitarian catastrophe, and settlement, and his call for full membership for the State of Palestine in the United Nations.

It confirmed Palestine's keenness to build stronger and more robust bilateral relations with San Marino and to enhance joint coordination in various fields.

At the same time, the "Foreign Ministry" urged countries that have not yet recognized Palestine to take the initiative to do so in order to protect the two-state solution. It also encouraged countries around the world to engage actively in the international efforts to achieve an immediate halt to the war, protect civilians, and open a political negotiation track to end the occupation and empower the Palestinian people to exercise their right to self-determination, similar to the peoples of the world, according to the New York Declaration and the advisory opinion issued by the International Court of Justice and international law, achieving security, stability, and prosperity for the countries and peoples of the region.
