Katz: The Gaza War Will Not Stop.. and Ben Gvir Criticizes Netanyahu
SadaNews - Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Katz announced on Saturday that the war on Gaza will not stop until all objectives are achieved.
Katz stated in a post on the platform "X" that the army is escalating its attacks on Gaza and is progressing towards a decisive phase.
He also added that "more than 750,000 residents have been displaced from the city of Gaza to the south, despite Hamas's threats, and the displacement is still ongoing."
He continued that "Israeli soldiers are gaining control over more and more neighborhoods and areas in Gaza."
Furthermore, he indicated that "if Hamas does not release all hostages and surrender its weapons, Gaza will be destroyed, and the movement will be eliminated."
"You Do Not Have a Mandate"
On his part, the so-called Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir wrote in a post on "X", addressing Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu: "You do not have a mandate to end the war without completely defeating Hamas."
This comes as Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar announced his "confidence" in Netanyahu's ability to "represent Israeli interests as required" in talks with U.S. President Donald Trump.
Sa'ar added on "X": "After two years of war, it is clear that Israel's national interest is to end the war and achieve its objectives."
Trump's Plan
These statements come alongside the confirmation from the U.S. administration that efforts to halt the war are ongoing, along with proposing a peace plan that establishes a ceasefire in Gaza and a prisoner exchange between Israel and Hamas.
Trump expressed optimism on Friday about nearing an agreement, following what he described as fruitful discussions with Arab leaders in recent days.
Meanwhile, Netanyahu, who is facing internal and international pressure, has not explicitly announced his position on Trump's proposed plan, which consists of 21 items.
