Prime Minister of the Bahamas: "The Two-State Solution" is the Only Path to Justice and Stability
Philip Edward Davis, Prime Minister of the Bahamas, stated, "The aspirations of the Palestinian people for dignity and self-determination are real, and alongside the State of Israel, both peoples have the right to security, sovereignty, and peace."
He added: "This conflict has tested the world's conscience for generations, but surrender is not an option. The vision of two states living side by side in peace and mutual recognition remains the only path to justice, stability, and reconciliation. We must not abandon dialogue in favor of despair, and the multilateral capabilities and potentials that the United Nations possesses must be at the core of this effort."
He continued: "If we believe that the organization suffers from structural and institutional weaknesses, let us reform it. If we see that the standards are not applied equally, and that powerful countries evade consequences for aggression or human rights violations, while sanctions are more easily imposed on weaker states, let us rise up and work to reform that."
