Zamir: We continue to work throughout the Middle East, with our focus on Gaza to bring back the hostages

SadaNews - Israeli Chief of Staff, Eyal Zamir, stated during his visit to southern Gaza on Friday, "We continue to work throughout the Middle East to eliminate threats, with our focus on Gaza, as we are doing everything we can to quickly bring back the abducted individuals and defeat Hamas."

During the tour, which included the acting head of the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency), the commander of the southern region of the army, the commander of the Gaza Division, and many other leaders, he met with soldiers and officers from the reserve forces and the officers' school following the deaths of a company commander and three officers due to an explosion of an explosive device in Rafah in the southern region last week.

Zamir mentioned, "We are working on all fronts, but the main focus here is in the Gaza Strip, where we are making a central tactical effort in the northern Gaza and the City of Gaza, and we have dealt severe blows to Hamas's capabilities and shattered its authoritative power, and the enemy is now operating in a guerrilla warfare style."

He addressed the killing of the company commander and the three officers in Rafah, saying, "We must learn from this difficult event, investigate, and draw the necessary lessons."

He added, "As with every event, there is a need to ensure the principle of security. The security of our forces alongside offensive operations, this is the principle of war. We must ensure that trainees receive the best possible training in the current circumstances and during operational missions, as the personal example of leaders in the officers' school is more important now than ever."

Zamir stated, "We are determined to dismantle Hamas and will seek to reduce the burden on the reserves, in order to give the forces rest and increase the enemy's attrition. We are working in qualitative cooperation with the Shin Bet, and the integration between the two agencies will continue to strengthen and continue to bring operational achievements to enhance security."
