UNRWA: One in three children in Gaza has not eaten for 24 hours
SadaNews - The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) reported that one in three children in the Gaza Strip has not eaten any food in the past 24 hours due to the lack of food supplies resulting from the Israeli blockade.
UNRWA added in a brief statement today, Friday, that "according to a rapid needs assessment conducted in Gaza by the International Rescue Committee, one in three children has spent an entire day without food over the past 24 hours."
It pointed out that "the price children are paying for their childhood in Gaza is unbearable, noting that under these harsh conditions, many children are being forced into work or begging."
The agency reiterated its call for an immediate ceasefire, stating: "Children in Gaza need a ceasefire now."
