Trump Calls for Investigation into "Tripartite Sabotage" Targeting Him at the United Nations
SadaNews: President Donald Trump has called on the United Nations to immediately open an investigation into a "tripartite sabotage" that he claims targeted him on Tuesday at its headquarters in New York, where he delivered a speech at the general assembly of the international organization.
Trump stated in a post on his platform Truth Social that the Secret Service is investigating what he described as an incident of sabotage at the United Nations.
He clarified that the moving walkway that was transporting him and his wife Melania "suddenly stopped," nearly causing them to fall. He called for the arrest of those responsible for that.
He added that the teleprompter failed at the beginning of his speech, and the world leaders in the hall could not hear him because the sound system also malfunctioned.
Trump wrote, "It's not an incident, not two, but three malicious incidents!".
United Nations officials stated that the safety mechanism embedded in the moving walkway had been activated, and that the White House was responsible for operating the teleprompter, not the organization.
United Nations spokesperson Stefan Dujarric said that the readout from the CPU of the moving walkway indicated that it stopped after activating a safety mechanism at the top of the moving walkway.
Dujarric added that Trump's video photographer was moving backward on the moving walkway to capture his arrival with the First Lady, stating, "Perhaps the video photographer inadvertently activated the safety mechanism."
In response to the claim that delegates were unable to hear Trump, a UN official noted that the sound system is designed to allow individuals sitting in their seats to hear speeches that are translated into six different languages through earpieces.
