Occupation Opens "Allenby Bridge" for Travelers and Closes it to Aid
SadaNews - The Israeli Airports Authority announced today, Monday, the reopening of the Karama crossing (Allenby/Kings Hussein Bridge) for passenger traffic, after its closure since midday last Thursday following a shooting incident that resulted in the death of an Israeli officer and soldier.
According to the Israel Airports Authority: "The Allenby crossing has been reopened for travelers after being closed due to Thursday's attack; however, the crossing remains closed for the transfer of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip until the conclusion of the Jordanian investigation and the transfer of its results to Israel."
The Palestinian Authority of Crossings and Borders announced yesterday morning, Sunday, that the Karama crossing would operate as usual, but the Israeli authorities unexpectedly closed the crossing in both directions without prior notice, causing it to be disabled for the entire day.
