Gaza Municipality: A Water Crisis Sweeps the City
SadaNews - The spokesperson for the Gaza Municipality, Issam Nabih, stated this evening, Saturday, September 20, 2025, that a water crisis is sweeping through the city of Gaza following the destruction of 75% of central wells by the Israeli occupation.
Nabih predicted that the residents of Gaza City will face more problems as winter approaches.
He said: "We are unable to provide the minimum of services to the residents of Gaza City."
The Israeli army continues its intensive bombardment of the neighborhoods of Gaza City, especially the western areas densely populated by displaced individuals from the eastern neighborhoods following the massive destruction carried out by the Israeli forces there, coinciding with the detonation of residential buildings in the northwestern neighborhoods.
On Tuesday, the Israeli army announced that it had begun a "large-scale ground operation" throughout Gaza City, but no actual ground incursion was observed according to field evidence and local sources until Wednesday evening in the northern neighborhoods of the city.
Thus, the Israeli army is present on the ground in several axes within Gaza City, namely: the northern area around the "Missile" intersection of Al-Jalaa and Al-Saftawi streets, the northeastern area in the schools within the vicinity of the Baraka area in Sheikh Radwan neighborhood, the northwestern area around Al-Karama neighborhood, the southwestern area near the Dahdouh intersection on "Street 8" and around the university college, the eastern areas in the neighborhoods of Al-Zeitoun, Al-Shuja'iyya, and Al-Tuffah, and the southeastern area in Al-Sabra neighborhood.
