Trump Reveals Details of Phone Call with Chinese President
SadaNews - On Friday, U.S. President Donald Trump described his call with Chinese President Xi Jinping as "very fruitful and good." He announced an anticipated visit to China at the beginning of next year.
Trump said on "Truth Social": "I just finished an extremely fruitful call with Chinese President Xi Jinping. We made progress on many very important issues including trade, fentanyl, the need to end the war between Russia and Ukraine, and the approval of the TikTok deal."
Trump continued: "I also agreed with President Xi to meet at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in South Korea, and that I will visit China in early next year, and President Xi, likewise, will come to the United States at an appropriate time."
He added: "The call was very good, and we will talk again on the phone, we appreciate the agreement on the TikTok deal, and we are both looking forward to meeting at the APEC summit."
The trade dispute between the United States and China is currently experiencing a temporary hiatus, having flared up in April when both countries threatened to impose tariffs exceeding 100 percent on each other's goods.
Trump signed an executive order in August to extend the temporary halt until November 10, and Beijing also announced its extension.
This phone call is the second between the two presidents since Trump took office on January 20, and the third since the beginning of the year as they had a phone call on January 17.
