Smotrich: I Am Discussing with Americans How to "Divide" Gaza "Real Estate"
SadaNews - Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich considered that the Gaza Strip represents a "huge real estate wealth," stating that he is in talks with Americans about how to "divide it" after the war.
The far-right minister mentioned during a real estate conference in Tel Aviv on Wednesday: "There is a huge real estate wealth in Gaza that covers its costs itself. Negotiations have already begun with the Americans."
Smotrich added: "We have spent enormous amounts of money on this war. We need to see how we can divide the land in percentage terms. The demolition, which is the first phase of the city's renewal, has already been completed, and now all we have to do is build."
The minister's statements come as the Israeli army has launched an attack on the city of Gaza in the northern part of the Strip, which includes evacuation orders for hundreds of thousands of residents.
U.S. President Donald Trump has spoken multiple times about his desire to turn the Gaza Strip into a "Riviera" under American control, following the "displacement" of Palestinians from it.
In August, the American newspaper "Washington Post" reported that the Trump administration was considering a proposal to rebuild Gaza after the war, which would place the strip under U.S. control for a decade, and fund the relocation of nearly a quarter of its population outside the strip, many of them permanently.
