Transitional Constitution Drafting Committee Completes Its Internal Regulations and Committee Formation to Start Its Work

SadaNews - The Transitional Constitution Drafting Committee for the State of Palestine concluded its fourth meeting, which took place at the headquarters of the Palestine Liberation Organization.

The committee issued a statement welcoming all efforts and positions supporting the rights of the Palestinian people, the latest being the General Assembly's adoption of the New York Declaration, and the joint French-British-German statement calling for the cessation of war and aggression against the Gaza Strip.

It added that the mission entrusted to the committee aligns with the leadership's direction to continue the political struggle until independence and the embodiment of sovereignty, clearly expressing the Palestinian will to reject all attempts at blackmail and intimidation practiced against the State of Palestine, its leadership, and its people, to concede national rights and constants.

It further stated that in this phase, during which world countries are increasingly recognizing the State of Palestine, especially those that will announce their recognition during the General Assembly in New York, places a national responsibility on everyone to work and prepare for the realization of national achievements and to establish them on the ground in the independent State of Palestine with its capital in Jerusalem.

The committee announced its completion of the final draft of its internal regulations, to be submitted to the president for approval and ratification, and has established its specialized committees to begin work immediately towards the rapid completion of the transitional constitution, which are:

- Committee on Constitutional Principles, Preamble, and Amendments.

- Committee on Legislative Authority and Elections.

- Committee on Executive Authority.

- Committee on Rights, Public Freedoms, Duties, and International Treaties.

- Committee on Judicial Authority and the Rule of Law.

- Committee on Institutionalization, Local Governance, Public Administration, and Security Agencies.

- Committee on Coordination and Drafting.
