Sheikh and Abu Rdeina Respond to Netanyahu: The Palestinian State is Inevitable

SadaNews - Palestinian Vice President Hussein Sheikh said on Thursday evening, commenting on statements by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during the signing of the E1 plan, that the Palestinian state is coming inevitably, as the oppressed and occupied peoples will prevail, and the occupation will end and vanish, no matter how much it oppresses and bullies; its destiny is to depart.

He added: The Palestinian state is coming whether people like it or not; shaping reality through the power and tyranny of militarization will not change the inevitable historical course that the will of the people for freedom, independence, and the right to self-determination will not be crushed.

He continued: Neither E1 nor any other occupation measures will prevent the Palestinian people from achieving their legitimate national goals, with the support of their brothers and friends around the world.

Meanwhile, the official spokesperson for the presidency, Nabil Abu Rdeina, affirmed that the Palestinian state, with East Jerusalem as its capital, is inevitable according to the two-state solution and international legitimacy resolutions, and it is the key to peace and stability in the region; there will be no peace or security without it.

In response to Netanyahu's signing of a framework agreement to expand settlements in East Jerusalem under the "E1" plan, and his statements that there will be no Palestinian state, Abu Rdeina said that the Palestinian state exists with the recognition of the entire world, and that there are 149 member states in the United Nations that recognize the state of Palestine, and that international recognitions continue to affirm that establishing our independent state does not require permission or legitimacy from anyone.

He emphasized that all settlements are rejected and condemned and are illegal under international law, especially United Nations Security Council Resolution 2334.

Abu Rdeina pointed out that Netanyahu and his extreme right-wing government are pushing the entire region toward the abyss, adding that the occupying government is not interested in peace, which will not be achieved without establishing an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital on the 1967 borders.

He stressed that the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council, the General Assembly, and the international consensus have brought the state of Palestine to observer status in the United Nations and raised the flag of Palestine alongside the countries of the world that recognized it, calling on countries that have not recognized the state of Palestine to do so immediately and to support its full membership in the United Nations to protect the two-state solution and the rights of our people, foremost of which is their right to self-determination.

Abu Rdeina affirmed that our people are moving forward to achieve their legitimate national goals of freedom and independence and the establishment of their independent state according to international legitimacy resolutions, with the support and backing of Arab brothers and all countries that believe in peace.
