The Occupation Issues a Notice to Demolish a School East of Yatta Town South of Hebron

SadaNews - Today, Thursday, the Israeli occupation forces issued a notice for the demolition of the "Al-Zuweidin Secondary School" located south of Hebron, east of Yatta Town.

The head of the village council, Said Tmaimat, told the official agency that the occupation forces posted a demolition notice on the doors of the school, noting that it serves a large number of Bedouin communities and the number of its students exceeds 120.

He pointed out that this demolition notice came in response to the demands of the extremist colonial organization "Regavim", which called about a month ago for the occupation authorities to demolish the school in order to achieve colonial objectives.

He indicated that elements from the so-called extremist colonial organization "Regavim" had pasted inciting flyers on the walls of the school about a month ago, calling on the occupation government to halt its operations and demolish the school, deeming that maintaining the school as part of the infrastructure would encourage Palestinians to build and remain in that area.

The extremist organization "Regavim" was established in 2006, and the extremist Minister of Finance, Bezalel Smotrich, is considered one of its key founders. It is a far-right organization that seeks to find what it calls "legal channels to implement demolition orders issued by the Israeli authorities against Palestinian homes and establishments".

The work of "Regavim" is concentrated in the occupied Negev area and expands to include all Palestinian territories, especially the area known as "C", which constitutes 60% of the occupied West Bank. The organization has access to geographic or demographic information about the region under a permit from the civil administration, utilizing geographic information systems and conducting detailed aerial photography with the presence of Israeli occupation in the Palestinian territories.
