Hebrew Channels: Trump Informed Netanyahu Not to Repeat Attack on Qatar, As the Latter Sends a Message to Israel
Translation by SadaNews - Channel 12 Hebrew revealed this Wednesday evening that U.S. President Donald Trump, when he called Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu twice since yesterday, informed him that he was upset with the attack on Qatar, considering it unacceptable.
The channel quoted Trump’s advisors as saying he urged Netanyahu not to repeat this act again.
Trump's advisors expressed their shock and anger at the Israeli behavior.
A senior U.S. official described the assassination attempt as a "bad reminder of Netanyahu and Dermer's behavior during Trump's previous term."
Other senior officials close to Trump claimed they were unaware of the "Fire Summit" operation beforehand, and that the operation did not receive a "green light"; they asserted they only learned of the operation after the U.S. military contacted them upon detecting Israeli Air Force planes on radar, and Israel admitted to its execution.
The channel mentioned in another report that the attack operation did not have unanimous approval within Israeli security circles, and there were reservations and objections.
The channel also translated by SadaNews indicated that Mossad Chief Dedi Barnea expressed profound reservations about the attack and its location, stating during discussions: "To this day, it has been the Qataris who have ultimately succeeded in influencing the deal, and you must take that into account."
Other senior officials believe the attack could severely damage relations with Qatar, and may affect trust with other countries.
The Mossad chief suggested waiting nearly a week to carry out the attack, until the end of Trump's deadline for Hamas to respond officially to the proposal.
Meanwhile, Channel Reshet Kan reported, according to the translation by SadaNews, that Qatar sent a message to Israel confirming it would not communicate with it again regarding the negotiations.
The channel did not mention further details, but noted that there were disagreements regarding the necessity to carry out the operation and its timing.
According to the channel, Israel is assessing the results of the attack and whether it succeeded or failed.
