Qatar Condemns the Attack
For its part, Qatar condemned the Israeli attack. The spokesperson for the Qatari foreign ministry, Majid Al-Ansari, stated: "The State of Qatar condemns in the strongest terms the cowardly Israeli attack that targeted residential premises housing several members of the Hamas political bureau in the Qatari capital Doha."
The Israeli attack was described as a "criminal assault that constitutes a blatant violation of all international laws and norms, and a serious threat to the safety and security of Qataris and residents in Qatar."
He added that "while the State of Qatar strongly condemns this assault, it affirms that it will not tolerate this reckless Israeli behavior and ongoing tampering with the security of the region and any act that targets its security and sovereignty. Investigations are underway at the highest level, and further details will be announced as soon as they are available."
This development comes at a time of increasing escalation in the conflict between Israel and Hamas, after Tel Aviv recently ordered a complete evacuation of Gaza residents in preparation for a large-scale attack.
