Netanyahu: We are deepening the incursion into the outskirts and inside Gaza... One hundred thousand have left the city

SadaNews - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Sunday that the occupation army "is deepening the incursion into the outskirts and inside the city of Gaza"; he claimed that about "100,000 people have left the city".

He added, "We are eliminating terrorist infrastructure and demolishing towers classified as terrorist towers, and we have established a new humanitarian area to enable civilians to reach a safe place and receive assistance".

Netanyahu claimed at the beginning of the cabinet session that Hamas is "making every effort to prevent Gazans from leaving," adding: "They want them to stay there to be a human shield. They do not hesitate to use any means".

He continued, "It is expected that the movement will try to prevent civilians from leaving, which is a humanitarian imperative and conceptually necessary in wartime. We want to focus on the militants and allow civilians to exit".

Netanyahu, in light of the growing international criticism against Israel due to its operations in the Gaza Strip, pointed out that he is aware of "the price we are paying on the diplomatic and media front for the State of Israel".

While military estimates indicate that the occupation of the city of Gaza could take a whole year, Netanyahu said: "The best way to get rid of this situation is to establish new mechanisms and end the war as quickly as possible".

He reiterated Israel's goals: "to eliminate Hamas, secure the release of all hostages, and ensure that Gaza does not pose a threat to Israel". He added that despite a decline in support for Israel to unprecedented levels internationally, he "chooses victory".
