Prisoner Club: 19 Thousand Arrests Since the Start of the Genocide War in Gaza
SadaNews - The Prisoner Club reviewed the key facts about the arrest operations, including arrests in the West Bank, including Jerusalem, after 700 days of the ongoing genocide war in the Gaza Strip.
The club stated today, Friday, that the total number of arrests in the West Bank, including Jerusalem, has exceeded (19) thousand cases.
It added that this number does not include Gaza, where the number of arrests is estimated in the thousands, as the concept of arrest cases includes those who were arrested and are still detained by the occupation, as well as those who were later released.
It clarified that the number of arrests among women since the beginning of the genocide war has reached more than (585), including women who were arrested from the territories of 1948, as well as cases of women arrested from the West Bank who are from Gaza, while this data does not include the number of women who were arrested from Gaza, which is estimated in the dozens.
The club confirmed that the number of child arrests in the West Bank has reached at least (1550) children.
Regarding the martyr detainees, it confirmed that since the beginning of the genocide war, (77) detainees at least have died in occupation prisons, whose identities have been revealed, including (46) martyrs from Gaza detainees, in addition to many Gaza detainees who died in prisons and camps, whose identities and circumstances of their martyrdom have not been disclosed by the occupation, and they are under enforced disappearance.
It is noteworthy that (74) of the detainees who died and whose identities have been revealed since the beginning of the genocide war are still holding their bodies, among the (85) martyrs’ bodies, whose remains the occupation continues to withhold, of those whose identities have been announced.
The Prisoner Club stated that since the beginning of the genocide war until today, there is no clear estimate of the number of detainees from Gaza in the occupation prisons and camps, and the only available data is what the prison administration has announced, which classified them as “illegal combatants” at (2,662), knowing that the organizations have not been able to monitor the number of arrests from Gaza in light of the crime of enforced disappearance imposed on Gaza detainees since the start of the aggression, with their number estimated in the thousands.
