Jordan: No Sovereignty for Israel over the Occupied Palestinian Territories
SadaNews - The Minister of Government Communication and official spokesperson for the Jordanian government, Mohammad Al-Momani, confirmed Jordan's rejection and condemnation of the Israeli procedures and steps to impose sovereignty over the West Bank, and all Israeli attempts to undermine the two-state solution, stating, "There is no sovereignty for Israel over the occupied Palestinian territories."
Al-Momani emphasized in press statements that Israel should not undermine the rights of the Palestinians to establish their state, pointing out that such actions are a gross violation of international law and United Nations resolutions.
He said, "The West Bank is occupied territory under international legitimacy and international law, and Israel is the occupying power in the West Bank. The only way to achieve security and stability is to end the occupation and establish an independent and sovereign Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital."
