Occupation Forces Detain Ramallah Governor at Atara Checkpoint
SadaNews - The Israeli occupation forces detained the Governor of Ramallah and Al-Bireh, Laila Ghannam, this evening, Wednesday, at the Atara military checkpoint north of Ramallah, where they stopped her and searched her private vehicle, before later releasing her.
The Governorate of Ramallah and Al-Bireh emphasized in a statement that what occurred is part of a systematic policy practiced by the occupation, involving aggression, abuse, and detention against the Palestinian people in an attempt to break their will.
The governorate affirmed that Governor Ghannam is a daughter of this people, facing the same injustice and persecution as every Palestinian, and stands steadfast alongside her people on their land.
It pointed out that such practices only increase the Palestinians' determination to uphold their rights and their resilience in the face of occupation, reiterating that the message of the Palestinian people and their leaders is steadfastness and unity until liberation and independence.
