Postponement of the Start Date for the Academic Year to Monday 8/9, Excluding Schools in Jerusalem
SadaNews - The spokesperson for the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, Sadiq Khdour, stated today, Saturday, that due to the ongoing repercussions of the financial crisis facing the State of Palestine as a result of the continued Israeli occupation and the economic blockade; and the hijacking of Palestinian clearance funds, alongside the impact on readiness for the academic year to start as scheduled, it has been decided to postpone the start date for the 2026/2025 academic year to Monday, September 8, 2025. Schools in Jerusalem will be exempted from this decision, remaining open on Monday, September 1, 2025.
