UNRWA Calls for Lifting Ban on Humanitarian Aid Access to Gaza as US Delegation Visits Rafah Crossing
SadaNews - The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) stated on Saturday that the Israeli authorities must lift their ban on the humanitarian aid provided by UNRWA to Gaza.
The agency expressed its readiness to continue its work on its X platform, stating that its warehouses in Egypt and Jordan are full and ready to accommodate about 6,000 trucks.
It noted that UNRWA has an effective system for the safe and large-scale distribution of aid, calling for the transfer of life-saving assistance overland.
In a related context, a US congressional delegation arrived on Saturday morning in North Sinai province, preparing for a visit to the Rafah land crossing.
According to an official statement from North Sinai province, the delegation is expected to inspect the logistical warehouses of the Egyptian Red Crescent and Al-Arish Hospital, accompanied by North Sinai Governor Khaled Mujawar, to learn about the mechanism for the entry of aid through the Rafah crossing.
