Ukraine: Dnipropetrovsk is Under a 'Major Russian Attack'
SadaNews - The governor of Dnipropetrovsk in Ukraine announced early this morning (Saturday) that the region is facing a "major attack," noting that strikes have occurred in Dnipro and Pavlohrad.
Serhiy Lysak wrote on the Telegram platform: "The region is under a major attack. The sound of explosions can be heard."
Since Russia launched its invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, Dnipropetrovsk has largely remained away from the fighting.
However, Kyiv acknowledged on Tuesday that Russian forces entered the region, with Moscow confirming that it has made ground advances.
To the south, the governor of the Zaporizhia region, Ivan Fedorov, reported explosions and posted a picture on Telegram of a burning house in the regional capital and power outages.
He said: "The Russians attacked the city with at least 3 drones."
The Dnipropetrovsk region is not among the five Ukrainian regions that Moscow has declared as annexed, which include Donetsk, Kherson, Luhansk, Zaporizhia, and Crimea.
